Check with your insurer

Rebates through private health insurance vary depending on your fund and level of cover. In some cases, clients may receive up to 100% back — we recommend checking directly with your insurer.

Private Client

Self-funded — no referral needed

If you are not claiming a Medicare rebate, no referral is required and sessions can be booked directly. This also applies if you have used your 10 Medicare sessions for the year.

We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We also accept referrals from the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA). Please contact us to discuss your situation before booking.

How Medicare rebates work

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate on each psychology session — up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.

Get a MHCP from your GP

Book an extended appointment with your GP and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan. They'll write a referral for psychology sessions.

Book your session

Book online or by phone. Bring your referral and Medicare card to your first appointment — or send them through beforehand.

We process your rebate

After each session, we process your Medicare rebate on your behalf — the $96.65 is usually credited to your bank account within 24 hours.

Private health insurance

Many private health extras policies include a rebate for psychology sessions, listed under "psychology" or "mental health." The amount varies by fund and cover level — check directly with your insurer, as some policies can cover the full session fee.

Assessment fees

Specialist assessment fees (Autism, ADHD, learning profiles) are separate to standard session fees and are package-priced. See the Assessment Fees page for full details.
